Teaching hygiene of a food has been begun in 1936 (the initial name) in connection with the organisations sanitary-and-hygienic faculties as a part of the Central Asian Medical institute.

The chair of hygiene of children and teenagers is organised in 2005, after reorganisation of the First and the Second Tashkent State Medical Institute in the Tashkent medical academy. Before creation of the Tashkent medical academy, chair hygiene of children and teenagers and hygiene of a food were independent chairs.
