On chair under a management the professor Gand др.I.Shajhova 3 doctors of sciences and 16 candidates of medical sciences are prepared. Employees of chair publish 5 monographies, more than 720 articles, 30 methodical recommendations, 12 popular scientific brochures.

Employees of chair participated in working out of 17 is standard-regulating documents confirmed by Ministry of Health Ruz (СанПиН, гиг. Norms, orders, мет. Instructions, etc.). In the initial stage of development employees of chair of hygiene of a food carry out the big researches under the characteristic of a food of the population.

The first works have been devoted studying of a condition of a food of local population taking into account quantity and quality of consumed products, forms and cooking methods, and also prevalence of diseases alimentary an origin, conditions of physical development and health of children (Petrov M. A, Mahkamov G. M, Guschin С, Zahidov A.Z., etc.) . In the subsequent the circle of studied questions extends and put a problem on working out of recommendations about rationalisation of a food of various groups of the population (in kindergartens, a day nursery, Children’s homes, the TECHNICAL TRAINING COLLEGE and sports boarding schools).

The requirement for the basic food substances of children of different age groups in the conditions of a hot climate is established. The carried out researches have allowed to reveal character and features of a food, and also presence of positive shifts in a food of the population of Uzbekistan. The big attention is given to improvement of quality and increase of biological value of foodstuff and food allowances. Specifications have been developed for a compounding of the flat cakes, allowed to increase quantity of high-grade fiber, riboflavine and calcium salts in bread.

The chair spends the big uchebno-methodical work on optimisation of educational process, strengthening of mastering by students of practical skills. Educational process is spent with the account of new pedagogical technologies. On all themes of a practical training methodical workings out for teachers on ЕМС are made, and for students 9 manuals, texts of 5 lectures, the textbook «Нутрициология» under Bahritdinova S.S.’s edition (2000) are published

On chair hygiene of children and teenagers are carried out the researches, allowed to characterise dynamics of health and physical development, and also a balanced diet of children and the teenagers living in Republic Uzbekistan. A number of researches on studying of prevalence and mediko-social factors of risk of development Fe++ defiency anemias, and also endemic a craw at children and the teenagers living in city and a countryside is spent.

At a complex individual estimation of physical development of city children, preschool age the percent of harmoniously developed children in city and a countryside has been established.
